This bottling is the second co-bottling between Velier and the Isautier distillery. This is a small batch of 3 barrels from lot 36 of the Reunionese cellar. This traditional molasses rum has aged in three different wood species: from 2007 to 2009 it was aged in new barrels, then from 2009 to 2019 in red ex-cognac barrels and finally, from 2019 to 2021, in red barrels ex-Isautier.
Founded in 1845 in St-Pierre, in the south of Reunion Island, Isautier is the oldest distillery still in operation on the island.

Nose : Spicy, fruity, creamy and sweet. Pleasant cream toffee with vanilla, apricot and papaya. Slightly woody with scent of dried tobacco leaves.
Palate : Intense and full bodied. A continuation of the nose, with pleasant acidity of black currants and lemon zest followed by hazelnut and chocolate toffee.
