Thailand is the 4th largest producer of sugarcane in the world, with more than 300 varieties grown in its territory.

Despite this favorable environment, the Chalong Bay distillery had to demonstrate creativity and adaptability in order to create a yeast suited to the country’s particular climatic conditions and to produce a 40% rum that complies with Thai regulations.
