Founded in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanese whisky, Nikka Whisky produces a wide and diverse range of whiskies at its two distilleries in northern Japan: Yoichi and Miyagikyo. Renowned for both its two single malts and its exceptionally precise and complex blends, Nikka was born from a true passion for whisky, which Taketsuru discovered in Scotland. It was also there that he met his wife, Rita, who would inspire and support him in realizing his dream of producing authentic whisky in Japan.
