Nose : Rich and deep. Initially revealing notes of beeswax, iris concrete, roasted pineapple, and nutmeg, the aromatic profile is gradually enveloped by rooty (ginger), malty, and earthy (peaty) scents. With aeration, it takes on chocolatey and honeyed tones (heather, linden).
Appearance : Topaz
Palate : Lively, crisp. Medicinal (balsam), smoky and lemony (zest), the flavor profile also echoes the honeyed character of the nose. Becoming more powdery (cocoa), cereal (corn, malted barley) and jammy (apple, mirabelle plum), it gradually reveals a drier peat, rich in minerals.
The finish is both energetic and silky. In turn medicinal and invigorating, it softens, revealing flavors of barley sugar, bitter almond, and candied ginger. Remarkably deep and imbued with originality, the retro-nasal aroma ventures joyfully into the heady and opulent world of American rye whiskeys.
