Description
TASTING NOTE
Appearance : lemon yellow.
Nose : refined, balanced. On the first nose, notes of citrus fruit (lemon, grapefruit), coconut and chocolate appear alongside a very light and salty peat. Allowed to breathe, the peat becomes more intense, as freshly cut grass and vanilla are delicately placed throughout the aromatic palette. Next, exotic aromas of pineapple and banana confirm the fruit?s dominance.
Palate : full-bodied, well-rounded. On the attack, a delicious lemon meringue tart is served on a platter. After this wonderfully rich start, a delicately acrid, dry and above all salty peat gradually takes hold. It creates an earthy foundation for a full expression of notes of fruit (apple, pear), white florals (lilac, lily), cut hay and chocolate. At the very end of the palate, the malted barley radiates intensity.
Overall : long, elegant. At the start of the finish, acacia honey spreads across the palate, as sweet spices (cinnamon, ginger) bring lots of structure. Next, nuts (chestnut, hazelnut) bring out the wonderful maturity emanating from the flavour palette. On the retro-nasal olfaction, cut hay, liquorice and milk chocolate create a very harmonious combination of flavours. The empty glass is slightly peaty, herbaceous and vanilla.
