Nose : Peaty, the whiskey first reveals aromas of hot ashes and smoke before giving way to fruity and medicinal scents. Exotic too, it offers notes of flambéed bananas and orange marmalade accompanied by rubber, camphor and herbaceous aromas to evoke an elixir of plants. Delicate notes of cocoa and toasted hazelnuts complete a very rich nose.
Taste : Bold and opulent, the whiskey offers above all aromas of earthy and incandescent peat coupled with iodized notes and dried seaweed. The smoke dissipates slightly to give way to aromas of pears and green apples before the phenols redouble in intensity, enveloped by aromas of orange (cough candy) and spices (green pepper).
Final : Long, the finish evokes the remains of a fire on a beach in the morning dew. Sea spray and seaweed mingle with damp ash, from which a thick, concentrated smoke emanates.
