Nose : Complex and delicate. It opens with a subtle floral fragrance, followed quickly by notes of roasted coffee beans, salted butter caramel, and beeswax. Then, aromas of nectarine, freshly grated ginger, and nutmeg prolong the nose. Finally, American oak brings structure and depth, ranging from relatively fresh woody notes to charred oak notes from aging.
Palate : Intense and structured. Notes of orchard fruits baked in the oven with a hint of lime and kiwi. Completed also by sweet spice aromas characteristic of Pot Still distillation and vanilla, coffee liqueur, and cocoa powder aromas. Finally, the initially round and rich texture is complemented by woody notes and a few warm touches of cloves and nutmeg.
Finish : Long and woody. Marked by the fruits and spices, it is ultimately the woody notes that have the last word, highlighting the many years of aging.
Profile : Delicate and subtle.
