For the third edition of the “Extinct Blends Quartet” series, Compass Box takes us into the hustle and bustle of a vibrant city. Metropolis is inspired by a recently extinct blended Scotch with a strong connection to a novel by Sir Walter Scott that features a number of urban centers. Malt whiskies from Aberlour and Miltonduff distilleries bring honey and shortbread biscuit notes, while a batch of blended whisky aged in sherry casks adds depth and dried fruit notes, while bridging the gap with smooth grain whiskies with citrus notes. Subtle hints of warm metal and smoke reveal the presence of whisky from the Bowmore distillery. Charming, refined, and full of energy, Metropolis reflects the vibrancy and richness of city life.
