Tasting Notes

Colour : Burnished gold.

Nose : Full-bodied, deep. On the first nose, a chocolate, oily and salty peat, as well as medicinal (ointment, iodine tincture) and camphoric aromas appear together in perfect harmony. Allowed to breathe, fresh fig and date bring lots of sweet creaminess to the aroma palette. Heady florals (broom, geranium) then fill the air. Finally, asparagus and artichoke punctuate the first stage of the tasting, combining classicism and originality.

Palate : Rich, invigorating. The attack stages a dried peat of seaweed and twig. Its bitterness is above all a sign of freshness and vitality. At once chocolatey, liquoricey and mouth-watering, the mid-palate reveals numerous nuts (sweet chestnut, walnut, almond, pistachio). The end of the palate is characterised by an incredibly noble expression of tobacco flavours.

Finish : Long, silky. Unveiling a very pleasant malty bitterness, the start of the finish is also saturated with intense smoke. The medicinal end of the palate (ointment, ylang ylang) is intensely fruity (lemon, banana, pineapple, apple), chocolatey and roasted (coffee, tea). On the retronasal olfaction, notes of thyme and savoury highlight the flavour palette’s herbaceous character. The empty glass is characterised by notes of soot, bacon and leather.
