Description
TASTING NOTE
Appearance : pale gold.
Nose : fine, dynamic. Right from the first nosing, we find Clynelish’s trademark salty, saline character. This is accompanied by cut hay, green barley and vanilla. Allowed to breathe, it becomes more candied (lemon), slightly medicinal (clove, mustard seed) and mentholated.
Palate : distinguished, slender. In tune with the nose, the attack is saline, herbaceous and mentholated. Not long after, vanilla and exotic (pineapple) notes completes this inspired picture. The mid-palate is undeniably malty and spicy (ginger, liquorice). At the end of the palate, fresh fruits (Williams pear, greengage plum) bring lots of juice.
Overall : long, strong-willed. At the start of the finish, vanilla pods, dill and black pepper create a particularly harmonious triptych. Gradually it becomes chocolatey, roasted (coffee) and vegetal (green tea). The retronasal olfaction emphasizes its profoundly malty, saline and lemony character. The empty glass is characterized by notes of aquatic plants (bulrush, bamboo) and courgette flower.
