Tasting Notes
Nose : Fine, distinguished. Dried fruits (date, fig) perfuming red fruits (raspberry, strawberry) or a raisin cake. That is what the first nose influenced by Madeira wine expresses without being swallowed by it. Then, flowers (peony, pink pepper) fill the atmosphere with their heady perfumes while an ocean breeze refreshes it. Absolutely magnificent! Bitter orange zest arrives in abundance at the instant.
Palate : Both ample and concentrated. Ample because it fills the palate in its entirety and delicately leaves notes of licorice, pencil lead, oranges, heather honey, and geranium. Concentrated because its center is occupied by malted barley, precious wood, bee wax, and violets. It then becomes exotic (mango, persimmon, guava).
Finish : Long, smooth. With gourmet pleasure, it has become chocolatey. Spices of rare nobility (cardamom, saffron) gradually cover fresh figs and white peaches. Very rooty, it reveals gentian and ginger over time. The aftertaste makes us smell the smoke of a Havana full of elegance and personality. The empty glass oscillates between Madeira wine and malted barley.
