Profile: the distinguished initial nose offers lovely notes of lemon and freshly cut grass. At the same time, translucent smoke appears alongside a milky peat. Allowed to breathe, plant aromas appear (rosemary, verbena). Stunning mentholated freshness. The lively attack is fruity, peppery and smoky. The long finish centers on cocoa and the retronasal-olfaction on fruit (raspberry). Exclusive to LMDW.
BENROMACH 9 YO 2009 Bourbon The Chronicles
$190.00
Despite having the same peat content (12 ppm) as the Benromach 2009 found in our 2018 Creation catalog, this single cask is nonetheless quite different from its predecessor. Firstly in the more delicate and nuanced way in which peat and smoke take over the palette of flavors and aromas. And then because, despite finding the same aromatic plants, the same cut grass, the same spices, and even the same tarry, medicinal character, these all appear in such a different order that the result is a whole new whisky. Red fruits also enrich the fruity register.
