Description
Tasting Notes
Colour : Copper with greenish reflections.
Nose : Ample, heady. Deliciously cocoa-like, licorice, balsamic (cedar), autumnal (dried leaf, lichen), and infused (thyme, bay leaf), the aromatic palette radiates freshness and complexity. With aeration, scents of citrus (orange, mandarin), apricot, sandalwood, and polish provide a sense of nobility.
Palate : Rich, dense. Full of vigor, the flavor profile takes us into increasingly autumnal territories (cep mushrooms, truffles, chestnuts). Then, a very pleasant herbal bitterness (gentian, mint) refreshes the palate perfectly. Flavors of emery cloth and walnut husk complete this colorful picture.
Finish : Long, indulgent. Amplifying the chocolate character of the aromatic palette, the tasting becomes very indulgent (fondant, éclair). Increasingly powdery (cinnamon, rice, ginger), it continues to reveal flavors of raisins and dates. Empyreumatic (gas oil, fuel), the retro-nasal olfaction leaves the Hampden signature.
