Description
Tasting Notes
Nose : Warm, velvety. Initially, all that the first impression of the nose offers is tar, and nothing else. The second whiff opens up to notes of vanilla, chocolate, and licorice. With great finesse, it evolves into exotic fruits and cardamom. It brings to mind a late harvest Riesling.
Palate : Powerful, structured. Its extremely velvety tannins are brimming with spices (clove, pink pepper). Similar to the nose, vanilla and chocolate enrich the mid-palate. Heady fragrances (iris, lily) invade the taste buds. Then, the spices become even more pronounced (chili, nutmeg, ylang-ylang).
Finish : Long, woody. Licorice stick, peonies, peppery roses, saffron – all these notes contribute to its enchanting and exuberant character. The retro-olfaction returns to tar. The empty glass retains a licorice and spicy aroma (star anise).
