BENRIACH 1991 ARTIST #13 OVER 30 Spirits Shop Selection

In 1985, the Benriach distillery doubled its production capacity from two to four stills. It became, in 2016, the property of the Brown Forman company, which secured the services of the famous master blender Rachel Barrie in 2020. Aged in a second-fill sherry cask, this version explores herbaceous, fruity, spicy, and indulgent territories that constantly push the boundaries of tasting. This is evidenced by the flavors of coriander and vanilla that leave a lasting impression on the palate.

Tasting Notes

: Deep golden yellow.

Nose : Expansive, complex. Airy, the nose oscillates between fragrances of aromatic plants (chamomile), heady flowers (gorse, mimosa), exotic fruits (pineapple, banana), fresh nuts, and spices (curry, ginger). With aeration, the palette becomes infused (lemon balm, verbena) and rustic (dandelion, straw).

Palate : Rich, concentrated. The palate reveals flavors of zucchini flower fritters and coconut milk at the forefront. Then, barley and rice grains highlight a fine texture. Smooth, the finish invites savoring a delicious milk tart.

Finish : Long, robust. Very fruity (mirabelle plum, yellow peach), rooty (gentian), and spicy (cardamom), the finish is intimately connected to the palate. Covered with a fine layer of black licorice, the aftertaste is indulgent (pineapple tart), liqueur-like (botrytised grapes), and infused (chamomile).
