Description
Tasting Notes
Colour : Deep orangey copper.
Nose : Rich, complex. Elegant notes of beeswax, candied apricot, and roasted nuts give way, upon airing, to noble fragrances of apple jelly, cherry eau-de-vie, and heady flowers (gorse, freesia).
Palate : Lively, slender. Evoking a superb single malt aged in sherry casks, like Ben Nevis, the palate begins with a powdery (cocoa) and smoky (beeswax, sandalwood) attack. A slight mineral reduction and flavors of black licorice finally envelop the taste buds.
Finish : Long, heady. Rooty (gentian, ginger), sugary (cane sugar), and vanilla, the finish becomes floral (lavender, gardenia), then invites savoring exotic fruits (mango, guava, passion fruit). A note of salted butter caramel as a highlight.
