Description
Tasting Notes
Colour : Burnished gold with copper tinges.
Nose :Refined, distinguished. The warm first nose wavers between notes of rancio (apricot, brandied brandied cherries, wilted rose), cane sugar and beeswax. Allowed to breathe, various honeys (lavender, violet, geranium) take over. The increasingly heady aroma palette (iris butter, carnation, gillyflower) gradually becomes exotic (mango, persimmon, guava). In the background, a field of sugar canes appears on the horizon.
Palate : Lively yet full. The powdery attack (cocoa, cinnamon, ginger) quickly develops fleshy notes of apricot flesh and bitter orange. The particularly well-balanced mid-palate is apricoty and praline. The mouth-watering end of the palate gradually becomes more autumnal (dried leaf, lichen, chestnut) and more saline.
Finish :Long, stately. At the start of the finish, a very pleasant roasted and chocolate bitterness seeps deep into the taste buds. The rich end of the finish invites us to enjoy spice bread and a coffee mocha. The deliciously liquorice retro-nasal olfaction is also slightly tarry (pipe tobacco) and spicy (ginger). The very dense dried extracts on the empty glass reveal fragrances of apricot stone, sandalwood, cocoa bean and Russian leather.
