Description
Colour: deep golden yellow.
Nose: rich and heady. Aromas of burnt rubber, flambeed banana, roasted pineapple, vetiver, iris concrete, and camphor initially compete for prominence. This thunderous opening gradually gives way to more jammy fruit notes (apple, mirabelle plum), alongside honeyed hints (acacia), vanilla, and liquorice.
Palate: smooth and silky. In marked contrast to the nose, the palate opens with tangy citrus notes (lemon, grapefruit), herbal nuances (cut hay, alfalfa), and powdery tones (grated ginger). It then shifts towards more mineral (charcoal, petroleum) and medicinal (tiger balm) registers, before clearly returning to the core essence of sugarcane. This gustatory exploration unfolds with surprising softness and balance.
Finish: dynamic and expressive. Echoing the citrus character of the palate, it also reveals creamy (coconut), vanilla, and infused herbal notes (chamomile, savoury). On the retro-olfaction, fine shavings of chocolate settle on the tongue, releasing a lingering smoothness. The empty glass remains fresh and aromatic, marked by medicinal (mustard seed) and fruity (yellow plum) tones.
