Distilled in the Highlands at Benriach and aged for over 31 years in ex-bourbon casks, this deep and tertiary single malt offers a complex profile with wild notes of nuts and vanilla, very characteristic of American oak. Menteith is one of the 12 noble malts chosen to represent the Thanes in William Shakespeare’s tragedy Macbeth. Each bottle in the series is adorned with an illustration by Sir Quentin Blake, who has reimagined these immortal characters as birds, all in the illustrator’s unmistakable style. Livingstone and Elixir Distillers present the first act of the Macbeth range, a true homage to the play written by William Shakespeare in 1606. This first act includes nine elixirs that will allow us to patiently wait for the four subsequent acts, for a total of 42 whiskies. Each Scotch whisky in this series is based on the profiles of Macbeth‘s characters, with tasting notes written by Dave Broom and labels illustrated by the legendary Sir Quentin Blake. A true journey between Shakespeare’s quill and the finest bottles that Elixir Distillers can offer.
