This Single Farm edition is crafted using barley from the Lacken farm and Irish peat harvested in County Kildare. Heavily peated (57 ppm), this single malt expresses a vivid, saline, oily, and robust peat character, balanced by notes of white fruits, green tea, and hay that bring remarkable freshness. It can be compared to the Waterford Peated Woodbrook, which is even more heavily peated but features much fresher notes, including citrus, meadow flowers, and spicy undertones. The use of 100% Irish peat marks a return to a certain tradition, as it was the primary means of heating for the people of the island for centuries. It’s the first time in generations that Irish whiskeys have been made in this way.
