A limited-edition blended whisky from creative blender Compass Box, Ultramarine was bottled in July 2022 as the first release in the Extinct Blends Quartet, a collection of four whiskies that reimagine some of the most iconic blended whiskies of yesteryear. Embracing old-school sherry character and ethereal peatiness, Ultramarine combines malt whiskies from Caol Ila and Glendullan with grain whisky from Cameronbridge and Girvan, and more. Aromas of honey, polished oak, toffee, vanilla custard and rich peat smoke fill the nose, complemented by notes of roasted pecans, raisins, Chantilly cream, stewed apples, gingerbread, dried fruit, clove and rich smoke throughout the palate and lingering in the finish.
