Description
Nose: Soft and airy. Notes of verbena, medlar, chalk, straw, artichoke heart, soot, pencil lead and dry peat appear in succession. With aeration, lemon zest and Williams pear release their fresh, tangy juices across the whisky.
Palate: Refined and dignified. Resting on a foundation of peaty liquorice, the flavour profile unfolds with leafy, pastoral nuances (alfalfa, dandelion, clover). Then the peat rises to the forefront, carrying superb iodine, salty, peppery and medicinal accents (balsam, mustard poultice).
Finish: Silky and velvety. Vanilla notes intertwine with juicy pear and resinous hints (pine, Vosges candy), creating a particularly smooth, harmonious finish. Over time, the peat becomes earthier, enriched with salt and iodine. The empty glass reveals empyreumatic aromas reminiscent of smoked meat and fish.
