- Nose: Gourmet and exotic, notes of flambéed banana and roasted pineapple.
- Palate: Faithful to the nose, an exotic palette with a slight touch of anise on the finish.
- Overall: Soft and persistent.
The Renegade rum distillery: a modern marvel. Designed with precision to exalt the individuality of the terroirs, the purity of the prolonged fermentation, and a thoughtful and rigorous distillation. Old Bacolet Terroir: On the south coast, protected from the force of the Atlantic trade winds, Old Bacolet was one of the first regions to be cultivated by the French. A floodplain between two small rivers, these alluvial soils -Plains Clay Loam and Woburn Clay- and a high water table produce a lush cane. For this rum, we harvested the fast growing variety we call Cain in Josh’s Field, which is found on the land called Riverside. At the Old Bacolet farm, a vast panorama of canes made up of multiple varieties thrives on nearly 25 acres. The land – close to the coast, but far enough inland for the soil to be rich and moist – has been cultivated since the 1800s. Indeed, coconut palms, papaya, mango and other sporadic trees in and around fields still bear witness to the fertile value of the land. Earth. The river running through Old Bacolet brings a refreshing breeze on the way to the sea.
