RENEGADE Études Dunfermline Antipodes

$120.00

First aged version (18 months) of Renegade, this rum was made from the Lacalome Red variety of sugar cane, harvested from several plots belonging to the Dunfermline farm, located in the mountains of Saint-Andrew in the North East of the island of Grenada. Distilled in pot stills, it reveals distillate notes of rare intensity and great complexity. However, sprinkled with finely caramelized (toffee), vanilla and chocolate tones, its aromatic and taste palette evolves towards increasingly mature registers.

Description

Tasting Notes

Colour: Bright gold.

Nose : Ample, lively. On the first nose, notes of flowered cane juice and squeezed lemon followed by fresh fruit and bourbon vanilla which are revealed after a slight aeration!

Palate : Rich, concentrated. An attack reminiscent of hot cane sugar relayed by flavors of Williams pear and notes of white glue. The end of the mouth directs us towards notes of roasted coffee.

Finish : Long, dense. A medicinal start followed by notes of chocolate and a nice herbaceous bitterness (sugar cane).
