Founded in 1936 by Pierre de Montesquiou, Marquis de Montesquiou is a French Armagnac house rooted in the traditions of Gascony. The Montesquiou family has been established in the region since 1040, with Pierre de Montesquiou d’Artagnan among its celebrated ancestors, inspiring the legendary figure of the Musketeers. Since 1955, the house’s expertise has been passed down through just three cellar masters, maintaining a rigorous approach to blending and ageing.
The Oxygène 20 Years is a refined blend of eaux-de-vie selected exclusively from Bas-Armagnac and Ténarèze, two Armagnac terroirs known for their finesse and structure. Aged slowly in oak casks, the eaux-de-vie gradually breathe and oxidise, developing layers of dried fruit, spice, caramel and delicate honey while becoming increasingly smooth and rounded.
After two decades of maturation, this expression reveals a rich yet elegant aromatic profile, combining toasted almonds and honey with the depth gained through prolonged ageing. The Oxygène collection reflects the house’s philosophy that time itself is an essential craftsman in the development of Armagnac.
