Description
Tasting Notes
Colour : Burnished gold with copper tinges.
Nose : Full-bodied, subtle. The particularly interesting first nose reveals floral (lilac, carnation, hyacinth), fruity (passion fruit, Kaffir lime, pineapple), medicinal (tiger balm, camphor), spicy (cardamom, star anise) and liquorice notes. Allowed to breathe, the aroma palette develops a very lyrical tertiary register (dried leaves, sweet chestnut, humus, hazelnut). New heady florals then appear (gladiolus, freesia). Outstanding!
Palate : Distinguished, slender. Full of an energy that sees citrus fruits (lemon, orange) take centre stage, the attack quickly moves into incredibly smooth notes of malt and vanilla. On the mid-palate, vanilla turns into milk chocolate and exotic fruits (guava, persimmon) reveal a beautifully tangy backdrop. Gradually and very poetically, the grains of dust floating in the air evoke the warmth of childhood attics.
Finish : Long, accomplished. At the start of the finish, cocoa powder showers the palate, as new fruits are added to the flavour palette (lemon, apricot, peach, nectarine, melon). With stunning youth and freshness, the end of the palate is characterized by notes of fresh fig and red fruit (raspberry, strawberry). The balsamic retro-nasal olfaction and empty glass reveal thuja, pine resin and cedar fragrances.
