TASTING NOTE
Appearance : burnished gold.
Nose : refined, distinguished. The stunning first nose is characterized by succulent notes of cane sugar, juicy pineapple, cocoa bean and white mint. Allowed to breathe, these are nourished by acacia and lime blossom honey, aromatic plants (verbena, sage) and candied citrus fruit (lemon, grapefruit). In a climax, nutmeg and coconut milk form an exquisite duo. Superb!
Palate : taut, lively. The attack is closely linked to the nose and demonstrates rare precision in its recreation of the pineapple, coconut milk and verbena notes. On the mid-palate, vetiver, rosemary and savory coat a particularly appetizing cane sugar. The honeyed end of the palate (acacia, geranium) gradually becomes increasingly medicinal (ointment, mustard poultice), camphoric and spicy (star anise, clove).
Overall : long, firm. Staying united with the palate, the start of the finish is medicinal (iodine tincture) and musky. With incredible finesse, it reveals sweet pastry flavours (sweet pancakes), as vetiver and lime blossom flood the end of the finish. On the retro-nasal olfaction, this floral sequence gives way to notes of coriander, lime and honeysuckle. The very concentrated empty glass evokes sugar cane, cane sugar, cane syrup and delicately caramelized molasses.
