Description
Tasting Notes
Colour : Bright gold.
Nose : Refined and elegant. Initial aromas of smoke, freshly cut hay, candied lemons, and vanilla blend in perfect harmony. Upon aeration, the sharpness of the smoke pierces through the aromatic palette. Gradually, mustard seeds, musk, and new candied fruits (mirabelle plum, pear) accompany an oily and delicate peat. Later, the peat fully takes center stage.
Palate : Rich and focused. The entry is dominated by ashy, minty, milky, green, and lemony peat. It carves a deep path, uncovering sea spray, salt, and seaweed flavors. Mid-palate, almond milk and lemon juice refresh the senses. Beautifully serene, the finish alternates between hydrocarbon notes (fuel), acacia honey, licorice, and fennel.
Finish : Long and balanced. In the initial moments of the finish, the peat is enriched with empyreumatic notes (tar, sleet, gasoline). Despite this, it maintains supreme elegance. Flavors of gentian, bay leaf, and sage highlight its vegetal evolution. Very green and slightly aniseed, the aftertaste pays homage to malted barley and green malt. Superb. Simultaneously, exotic fruits (pineapple, kaffir lime) release a sweet and tangy juice. From the empty glass, a block of drying peat emerges, with the sun at its zenith.
