Description
Tasting Notes
Colour : Bright gold.
Nose : Fine and precise. Mineral (slate), iodized (crustaceans), slightly empyreumatic (grit), peaty, smoky, ashy, and also lemony, the aromatic palette captures the essence of Caol Ila. With aeration, essential oils (savory, rosemary), rich flowers, and white pepper add elegance and depth.
Palate : Delicate and balanced. Rocky, maritime (seaweed, kelp), saline, and medicinal (balm), the flavor profile reveals new citrus notes (grapefruit, lime). Increasingly ashy and mineral (asphalt), it becomes refreshingly nuanced by thyme and chamomile infusions. Magnificent.
Finish : Long and distinguished. Returning to malted territory and remarkably fresh, the tasting lingers with more indulgent flavors (vanilla flan, coconut cake). With notes of licorice stick, chocolate, and fruit (pear), the aftertaste is distinctly “Caol Ila.”
