Description
Tasting Notes
Colour : Golden yellow.
Nose : Ample, rich. Oily, the initial nose exudes aromas of rich peat mixed with sea spray and salt. With aeration, the aromatic palette becomes chocolatey, roasted, and slightly camphorated. Then, Sichuan pepper gradually permeates the surrounding atmosphere.
Palate : Both lively and creamy. Swirls of smoke, sleet, and the same rich peat are the main players in a very compact first flavor sequence. Entire blocks of peat then collapse along the walls of the palate. Noteworthy is a very refreshing salinity.
Finish : Long, indulgent. Initially wrapped in soot, flavors of candied fruits (pear, apple, pineapple) and malted barley grains intertwine smoothly. Very subtly chocolatey and animalistic (meat, fish), the finish glows with embers.
