Founded in 1881 on the remote north-east coast of Islay, Bunnahabhain is renowned for producing a rich, maritime single malt with only gentle peat influence—a distinctive contrast to the island’s heavily peated neighbours. Its large pear-shaped stills create a weighty, elegant spirit that develops remarkable complexity with extended maturation, making older Bunnahabhain releases highly prized among collectors.
Distilled in 1989 and matured for 25 years in Hogshead Cask #5814, this exceptional Signatory Vintage bottling was selected as an LMDW World Exclusive and released in a limited edition of just 193 bottles. Bottled at natural cask strength without chill filtration or added colouring, it showcases the distillery’s beautifully mature character. Rich notes of black grapes, fermenting malt and freshly baked bread are layered with maritime freshness and refined oak, creating a whisky of remarkable depth and evolving complexity.

Palate: Rich and beautifully textured, with dark fruits, malt sweetness, toasted cereals, vanilla, soft spice and a delicate mineral character.
