HANYU 2000 Single Cask Tay Bak Chiang #2

Founded in the 1940s near Tokyo by the grandfather of Ichiro Akuto, Hanyu Distillery began producing single malt in the 1980s. However, the distillery was eventually closed in 2000 and demolished in 2004. Its remaining stocks were later acquired by Ichiro Akuto, preserving some of Japan’s most sought-after lost whisky.

This Hanyu 2000 Single Cask #63 was selected for Tay Bak Chiang #2, a limited edition and LMDW world exclusive of just 300 bottles. Powerful yet remarkably refined, it showcases Hanyu’s distinctive character through layers of smoked meat, dark fruits, floral notes, spice and mineral complexity. A rare opportunity to experience whisky from one of Japan’s most legendary closed distilleries.
