BOWMORE 1996 Aged 30 Years ARTIST #15 Something in the Water

Founded in 1779 on the shores of Loch Indaal, BOWMORE is one of Islay’s historic distilleries and the oldest on the island. Its legendary No. 1 Vaults, located below sea level beside the seawall, provide a distinctive maritime environment for maturation. The distillery is known for its medium-peated single malts, traditional production methods and partially on-site maltings.

The 15th edition of the ARTIST collection, Something in the Water, pays tribute to Bowmore with a 30-year-old single malt distilled in 1996. With a phenol level of 25–30 ppm, it brings together elegant peat, vibrant tropical fruit and a pronounced maritime character. The profile develops from heady florals, pineapple and passion fruit into creamy coconut, honey, rich peat and seaweed, before a bright, saline and gently medicinal finish.
