Ben Nevis

Founded in 1825 and acquired by the Japanese group Nikka in 1989, Ben Nevis is one of Scotland’s few bicentennial distilleries. Located on the mainland of the Scottish west coast, at the foot of Britain’s highest mountain from which it takes its name, Ben Nevis is known for aging in old sherry casks.

In recent years, Ben Nevis distillery seemed somewhat dormant, as if in a gentle slumber, but it had not yet had its final say. The awakening occurred in 2012 with the arrival of the intensely peated Ben Nevis Traditional version. The distillery still harbors treasures waiting to be awakened.
