TRITICUM 2018 Version Française Cerealis

$85.00

Since 2020, the French Version, a range dedicated to exceptional French spirits, has been meeting producers across the country and showcasing their expertise. In 2023, the French Version inaugurates a new cycle dedicated to various stages of whisky production. Named Cerealis, the first episode of this cycle highlights the iconic cereals used in whisky production worldwide, featuring four versions crafted from corn, rye, barley, and wheat. Distilled between 2013 and 2019 in an Armagnac still, the four small batches revisit the categories of bourbon, rye, single malt, and grain whisky. Triticum 2018 is a whisky made 100% from malted wheat and aged for 5 years in ex-cognac barrels. During tasting, this edition takes us on a journey through various olfactory and gustatory environments, with a constant denominator: indulgence.

Tasting Notes

Colour : Very light gold.

Nose : Rustic, deep. After elegant notes of agave syrup, the initial aroma leads us to the warm vapors of vegetable broth before introducing more indulgent scents (rum baba, yogurt cake). On the second nose, a subtle bell pepper note adds depth and complexity to a promising aroma.

Palate : Precise, languid. Here, indulgence is present from start to finish! Starting with lemon meringue tart at the attack, and towards the end, through tangy candies. This indulgence is interspersed with woody, slightly aniseed flavors, green tea, and hibiscus.

Finish : Sparkling, wandering. The beginning of the finish evolves towards lemonade and becomes increasingly noble (old books, leather). In the aftertaste, oyster mushroom flavors take us into the woods.
