Founded in 1786, Strathisla is one of Scotland’s oldest continuously operating distilleries and the spiritual home of the iconic Chivas Regal blend. Celebrated for its elegant, fruit-forward Speyside style, official single malt releases remain uncommon, making mature independent bottlings particularly sought after. With its rich history and distinctive character, Strathisla has long been regarded as one of Speyside’s finest hidden gems.
Distilled in 1979 and matured for 27 years, this rare expression was bottled by Signatory Vintage, one of Scotland’s most respected independent bottlers. Founded by Andrew Symington in 1988, Signatory quickly earned a reputation for releasing whiskies at natural cask strength, without chill filtration or added colouring, while providing exceptional transparency through detailed cask information. Limited to just 605 bottles, this mature Strathisla captures the elegance that extended ageing can bring, revealing beautifully layered fruit, refined oak and remarkable complexity—a highly collectible bottling from both a historic distillery and an iconic independent bottler.
