Planteray Rum Xaymaca Special Dry is a celebration of Jamaica’s iconic pot-still tradition, capturing the vibrant, ester-forward character that has shaped the island’s rum heritage for centuries. Named after Xaymaca, the original Arawak word for “land of wood and water”, this expression is a blend of rums distilled in the historic John Dore pot still at Long Pond and the Vendôme pot still at Clarendon. Unlike the ultra-high ester styles represented by distilleries such as Hampden, Xaymaca offers a dried, more approachable interpretation of classic Jamaican “funk”, making it an ideal introduction to the island’s unmistakable aromatic profile.

Nose: Smoky and fruity, with herbaceous lift and notes of vanilla, baked banana, bitter orange peel and ripe pineapple
Palate: Dry and expressive. Floral and fruity layers of rosewater, pear, white grape, apricot and apple-cinnamon unfold with clarity
Finish: Spicy, warm and ripe-fruited, with lingering Jamaican funk
