Founded in 1969 by Masataka Taketsuru, the Sendai Distillery was established in a serene valley in Miyagi Prefecture, chosen for its pure air, soft water and ideal climate for whisky maturation. Miyagikyo is known for producing a lighter, fruitier and more elegant style compared to its coastal counterpart Yoichi, thanks to its large, steam-heated pot stills that allow for slow and precise distillation.
After a decade-long absence, the Miyagikyo 10 Year Old Single Malt returns in a refined new interpretation. Bright and expressive, it highlights the distillery’s signature fruit-forward style, combining juicy orchard and citrus notes with gentle malt sweetness and soft vanilla influence from maturation. A beautifully balanced Japanese single malt that appeals to both newcomers and seasoned enthusiasts.
