MHOBA Bushfire
$108.00
MHOBA rum is a small batch production, 100% pot still made from fresh sugar cane juice at a sugarcane plantation just outside the small town of Malalane, in the nKomazi region of Mpumlanga, South Africa.
The name MHOBA is derived from the local SiSwati word for sugar cane (umhoba) as the rum is made only from sugar cane juice sourced from the sugar cane planted, grown and processed into juice on the farm surrounding the distillery.
MHOBA rum is the spirit of Nkomazi, designed to represent, celebrate, and share with the world of rum the unique qualities of this cane and, most importantly, the local communities who dedicate their way of life to agriculture.
Made from Nkomazi sugar cane juice with a long fermentation, this rum is marked by the unique flavors of sweet and gourmet smoke from a South African wood: the Sicklebush tree.
Inspired by the tradition of “Braai,” a sicklebush tree wood-fired barbecue that brings family and friends together, this rum celebrates South African culture and this unique moment of sharing.
