For over two centuries, the Merlet family has cultivated vineyards in the Saintonge region of France, with its distilling heritage dating back to around 1850. Originally renowned for producing exceptional Cognac, the family has continually refined its expertise across generations, combining traditional copper pot distillation with careful oak ageing to create spirits that faithfully express the character of their terroir. In the 1970s, Merlet expanded its craft beyond Cognac with the creation of its celebrated fruit liqueurs, a range that has since become recognised worldwide for its authenticity and quality.
Merlet Amerisse Orange Amère is a refined French bitter orange liqueur that showcases the house’s mastery of citrus. Crafted from carefully selected bitter oranges, it balances vibrant citrus freshness with delicate bitterness and aromatic complexity. Bright, elegant and versatile, it is equally suited to classic cocktails such as the Negroni, Americano or Spritz, while also adding depth and freshness to a wide range of contemporary serves.
