MAISON PRUNIER Lot 19.14 Borderies THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE 6.0

$3,400.00

While the first traces of Maison Prunier date back to 1701, its bottling and export activities truly began in 1769.

Made from the ugni blanc and folle blanche grape varieties, this version was distilled and casked at 69%, as indicated by the distillation ledger of the cellar master of the time.

Originating from the hilly terroir of the Borderies, it aged for 82 years in a damp cellar before being transferred to a demijohn in 1996 until its bottling in 2023.

Timeless, its aromatic and taste profile retraces nearly 110 years of history with incredible freshness of expression. This cognac is presented in a magnificent solid wood case that tells the full story of this eau-de-vie.

Tasting Notes

Colour
: Deep old gold.

Nose : Deep, complex. Magnificent, the initial nose is both vanilla, spicy (ginger), waxy, and lemony. With aeration, the aromatic palette takes on honeyed (acacia), floral (broom, mimosa), and exotic (pineapple, passion fruit) nuances. Gradually, a fine layer of tar covers the olfactory space.

Palate : Fresh, slender. Exotic fruits (banana, pineapple), candied ginger, and emery cloth faithfully reflect the aromatic palette. In the mid-palate, white grapes release a refreshing juice. The end of the palate evokes a delicious vanilla delicacy.

Finish : Long, full-bodied. Incredibly present, the beginning of the finish is divided into several superb herbaceous sequences (vine leaf, bay leaf, linden). Dynamic and tangy, the aftertaste is divinely exotic (passion fruit). The very end of the palate is velvety with extreme delicacy.
