Founded in 1815 on the southern coast of Islay, Laphroaig is one of the world’s most iconic peated whisky distilleries. Its distinctive character comes from its rich peat, coastal environment and peat-filtered water, creating the intense smoky, medicinal and maritime style for which the distillery is renowned.
Distilled in 1967 and matured for 30 years, this Laphroaig Extremely Rare was drawn from a blend of sherry casks and represents a remarkable piece of Islay whisky history. Often referred to as the “Islay Nectar”, its exceptional rarity is matched by remarkable depth and refinement. The expression was awarded Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2005, making it a highly sought-after collector’s bottling.
