Profile:
Full-bodied, airy. Smoky, peaty. Exotic, chocolatey, malty. Iodised, salty.
Nose:
Full-bodied, airy. At first, aromas of apricot and dried fig intertwine with exceptionally delicate peat. The aromatic profile evokes a caramelised apricot tart—superb. It then develops notes of orange, prune, roasted mango and dark chocolate.
Palate:
Elegant and complex. Powdery (cocoa), finely tarry and veiled in wisps of Havana cigar smoke, the flavour profile displays remarkable concentration. Over time, a beautifully malty, indulgent sequence (crème brûlée) with vanilla notes lends it impressive depth.
Finish:
Both firm and smooth. At this point, a rather dry, earthy and iodine-rich (seaweed) peat clearly takes centre stage. Moving into an increasingly salty register, the retro-olfaction reveals flavours of smoked fish, seafood (stuffed clams) and dry straw.
