Description
Tasting Notes
Colour : Pale gold.
Nose : Fine, slender. At first scent, aromas of agave, soot, toasted bread, and turpentine emphasize the empyreumatic character of this Kilchoman. Upon aeration, ointment-like aromas add a characterful medicinal touch.
Palate : Refined, energetic. Both lemony and floral (hyacinth, lilac), the palate’s attack stages a rather dry, translucent peat. Very saline and maritime (shellfish), the mid-palate is in turn medicinal (iodine tincture, methylene blue).
Finish : Long, dense. The start of the finish conjures a Scottish moor where freshly cut blocks of peat dry. The aftertaste strongly recalls the agave notes from the first scent. It also evokes the time of harvest (straw, alfalfa).
Profile : Fine and refined.
