HEPP 2014 Version Française

$160.00

Alsace has long been known for the quality of its eaux-de-vie (fruit brandies), and now it is making a name for itself in whisky production. In the village of Uberach, not far from Strasbourg, the Hepp family has been carrying on the ancestral know-how for three generations. René Hepp, hailing from a family of master distillers, established his artisanal distillery there in the 1970s. After building a reputation for their fruit brandies, the Hepp distillery quickly became one of the key players in Alsatian whisky, which has had a Protected Geographical Indication (IGP) since 2015. Today, under the leadership of his grandson, Yannick, the Hepp distillery, equipped with three 400-liter Carl stills, has been producing 100% Alsatian whisky since 2007 and is recognized for the precision of their work, whether it’s distillation or maturation. The cask selected for this 7th bottling of Version Française is a 2014 ex-Banyuls cask, combining Alsatian distillation expertise with the elegance of Pyrenean sweet wines.
