Description
Colour: deep golden yellow.
Nose: rich and heady. Bursting aromas of burnt rubber, flamb?ed banana, roasted pineapple, vetiver, iris concrete, and camphor initially compete for attention. This thunderous opening gradually softens, giving way to jammy fruit notes (apple, mirabelle), along with honeyed hints (acacia), vanilla, and liquorice.
Palate: smooth and silky. In striking contrast to the nose, the palate reveals tangy citrus notes (lemon, grapefruit), grassy nuances (cut hay, alfalfa), and a powdery texture (grated ginger). It then moves towards more mineral (charcoal, petrol) and medicinal (tiger balm) accents, before steadily returning to the fundamental essence of sugarcane. A richly flavoured journey, conducted with finesse and balance.
Finish: lively and expressive. Echoing the citrus tones of the palate, it also reveals milky (coconut), vanilla, and herbal infusion notes (chamomile, savoury). On the retro-olfaction, fine shavings of chocolate melt on the tongue, imparting a pleasing sense of smoothness. The empty glass is medicinal (mustard seed) and fruity (yellow plum), with remarkable freshness.
