Description
Tasting Notes
Colour : Topaz with green hues.
Nose : Heady, concentrated. The extremely floral first nose (dried flowers, iris butter, tuberose, carnation) gradually develops chocolatey, fruity (orange, mango), spicy (cinnamon, ginger) and vegetal (pipe tobacco) registers. Allowed to breathe, various honeys (lavender, violet, heather, lime blossom) and royal jelly fill the aroma palette with their sweet fragrances. Increasingly medicinal (arnica, elastoplast, tiger balm), this version also reveals truly magnificent notes of saffron.
Palate : Clean, ethereal. Overflowing with vanilla freshness, the attack is very different from the nose. Notes of white florals (lily of the valley, lilac, lily) and fresh fruits (peach, Mirabelle plum, pear) beautifully embody the Glenlivet style. On the mid-palate, flavours of fresh fig, lime and liquorice refresh the taste buds. At the end of the palate, this fruity development is enriched by the presence of candied apricot, fresh walnut, melon and perfectly ripe mango notes.
Finish : Long, serene. The vanilla start of the finish (flan, milk tart) is sprinkled with lots of aromatic plants (camomile, verbena, rosemary, sage). Then, seizing the palate, grains of malted barley bring lots of smoothness to the end of the finish. The finely woody retro-nasal olfaction (oak, gentian root) reveals delicious notes of leather and walnut stain. The empty glass is flooded with liquorice, rooty, praline and malty fragrances.
