TASTING NOTES
Colour: orangey copper.
Nose: full-bodied, subtle. The oriental-inspired first nose (rose petal, Turkish delight) is simultaneously exotic (guava, mango) and tertiary (dried fig, chestnut). Allowed to breathe, strong spices (cardamom, turmeric) as well as fragrances of orange blossom and lime blossom are all beautifully highlighted by a very pure minerality (schist, slate). Quince jelly then gradually covers the aroma palette.
Palate: distinguished, slender. Revealing the same oriental tones as the first nose, the attack is nonetheless more spicy (pepper, star anise) and chocolatey. On the mid-palate, a fine cocoa bitterness gradually coats the taste buds. The roasted end of the palate (coffee, tobacco) reveals lots of dried fruit and nuts (walnut, date, fig, hazelnut).
Overall: long, silky. The praline start of the finish precisely recreates absolutely delicious flavours of Corinthian raisin, date and fig. Full of freshness, the end of the finish is both exotic (banana, mango) and vanilla (pod). On the retro-nasal olfaction, black fruits (bramble, blueberry) and candied apricot infinitely draw out the length of the tasting. The empty glass is camphoric, malty and empyreumatic (tar, pine resin).
