Colour : Deep orange copper.
Nose : Rich, profound. On the first nose, a magnificent fruity rancio illuminates the olfactory space. Notes include apricots and candied oranges, dark chocolate, ripe mangoes, drying dates, linden honey, blended lavender and geranium scents, powdered cinnamon, flambéed bananas, and incense.
Palate : Dynamic, full-bodied. Vanilla and herbal (mint, lemon balm) notes dominate the initial attack, which also unfolds with smooth licorice, fibrous sugarcane, and rooty gentian flavors. At times reminiscent of an aged Chartreuse, the flavor profile is enriched by infusions of bay leaf, thyme, and oregano.
Finish : Long, juicy. Reflecting the rancio character of the nose, the start of the finish reveals notes of apricot, mineral slate, and exotic fruits like persimmon and guava. Then, flavors of iris concrete and salted butter caramel underline the intense concentration of the aftertaste. In the retro-olfaction, geranium scents spread through the air.
