Description
Tasting Notes
Colour : Deep old gold.
Nose : Fine, balanced. Marked by very pretty vanilla, malty, herbaceous (freshly cut hay, straw), and stewed (apple, pear) notes, the initial aroma evolves towards more exotic (pineapple, banana) and more roasted (coffee) registers. Upon aeration, spices (pepper, cinnamon) provide a delicate yet solid link with citrus (orange, tangerine) and aromatic herbs (verbena, sage).
Palate : Lively, dynamic. The palate’s entry raises the tasting level even higher as some ointments coat the taste buds. This finely medicinal start allows the full expression of malted cereal notes of great purity. In the middle of the palate, coffee, cocoa beans, cider flavors, and toffee harmonize beautifully. The aftertaste is indulgent, an invitation to savor nougat and salted butter caramel.
Finish : Long, full of tranquility. Confident, the beginning of the finish evokes a pound cake as well as a famous Breton pastry. Gradually, acacia honey, fragrances of blossoming orchards, and heady flowers (mimosa, broom) deeply permeate the taste buds. Mature and subtly woody (wax), the retro-olfaction is also vanilla. While adding a medicinal and camphoraceous touch, the empty glass precisely reproduces the main aromas of the initial nose to the comma.
